It’s been a very busy and consequential week for the Dallas Mavericks, and now many people are wondering what will come next. After a bad start to the season and the firing of general manager Nico Harrison, there are rumors that the front office will blow the team up and rebuild from scratch.
Some reports have said that Anthony Davis could be leaving the Mavericks, and several teams could be in contention for him. Writing on social media, Jake Weinbach suggested that Davis head back home to Chicago.

Davis has been with the Mavericks for less than a season, but he’s only been able to participate in 14 games since being traded. Once again, injuries have been a major problem for the 10-time All-Star.
Still, if the Mavericks really are willing to move Davis, the Chicago Bulls will be just one of many teams hoping to sign him. And while he may have love for his hometown, Davis may not end up with the Bulls.
There has been speculation about other squads, such as the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat, looking to get him. One of the most impressive things about Davis is how well he could fit into any number of teams, which will make him even more coveted.
With Harrison out of the picture, the Mavericks would be extra careful about any deal featuring Davis. They will only move him for the right exchange, and they will demand a lot in return for him.
Davis’ time with the Mavericks may be short-lived, and the journey to his next team could be unpredictable and very exciting.
