The Kansas City Chiefs cannot afford another loss after falling 28-21 to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9. Coming off their bye week, Patrick Mahomes and the offense should be refreshed heading into a critical divisional matchup against the Denver Broncos.
The run game has struggled throughout the season, placing nearly all offensive responsibilities on Mahomes to sustain drives and generate scoring opportunities. FS1 analyst Nick Wright recently expressed complete confidence in the Chiefs ahead of their clash with the 8-2 Broncos.
“There is no chance, they lose this football game. I am not guaranteeing a Mahomes masterclass. I am not guaranteeing a blowout. But what I am telling you is they’re not losing this football game,” Wright said on First Things First.

Wright emphasized his belief that Kansas City would find a way to secure the victory. He envisions the Chiefs coming out sharp after the bye week and establishing control early with a methodical opening drive to grab momentum.
Sunday’s game marks the first of two meetings between these division rivals. The second matchup is scheduled for Christmas Day in Kansas City, and the outcome of this contest could determine how much is riding on that holiday showdown for division positioning.
Denver presents one of the most difficult defensive challenges in the NFL this season. The Broncos lead the league with 46 sacks and rank third in total yards allowed, sixth against the pass, and fourth against the run.
Denver has maintained that level of performance despite losing Patrick Surtain II for two games due to a pectoral injury. Surtain earned Defensive Player of the Year honors last season and remains a cornerstone of their secondary when healthy.
Kansas City dominated this rivalry for years, winning 16 consecutive games and making Denver appear overmatched whenever Mahomes took the field.
This version of the Broncos sits atop the division standings and carries a different mentality after enduring those losses. The Chiefs need this win more urgently, but Denver appears prepared for the challenge.
