The Green Bay Packers have a plethora of weapons on offense. Starting with a solid quarterback in Jordan Love and plenty of pass-catching options, this team should be able to put up big scoring numbers every single week.
Unfortunately, they have struggled to get much going, and a lot of that has to do with the offensive line. They can’t run-block at all, and pass protection has also been an issue. To add insult to injury, they lost center Elgton Jenkins for the season, and he might also walk away in free agency.
With that in mind, Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department stated that they will probably pursue an offensive lineman in the 2026 NFL Draft. That’s why they tied them to Connor Lew of Auburn, Parker Brailsford of Alabama, and Iapani Laloulu of Oregon:
“There’s a slight tweak to the Packers’ draft needs this week. After Elgton Jenkins’ injury on Monday night and the growing suspicion that he will be a salary cap casualty in the offseason, ‘guard’ has been replaced with ‘interior offensive line’. That’s so the need now includes centers, too,” via BR NFL Draft Scouting Dept.
The Packers’ offensive play-calling has left plenty to be desired this season. Some have urged head coach Matt LaFleur to give up those duties or be more aggressive, whereas others believe he’s just trying to hide Jordan Love’s flaws.
Whatever the case, this team hasn’t lived up to its potential. And after everything they’ve done to make sure they can compete at the highest level, they can’t afford poor offensive line play to hold them back for much longer.
That should put a lot of emphasis on that during the offseason. And with no first-round pick because of the Micah Parsons trade, they might have no choice but to roll the dice on a not-so-touted prospect.
