NBA Fans React as Draymond Green Gets in Courtside Heckler’s Face

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green confronted a New Orleans Pelicans fan sitting at courtside on Sunday. After Green committed a foul against Herbert Jones, he went face-to-face with a home team supporter, who had been allegedly heckling him. After the exchange, Green resumed playing while the fan stayed in his seat.

Fans reacted to the viral scene between Green and an unnamed fan:

“A random dude really got in bro head.”

@TheNBACentel A random dude really got in bro head

One fan said:

@TheNBACentel Ragebaited Draymond and ain’t move a muscle

Another fan added:

@TheNBACentel Every game is an adventure with this man

One more fan continued:

@TheNBACentel Draymond always finds new ways to trend… even when the ball’s not in play

Another fan commented:

@TheNBACentel Pelicans fans talk spicy ONE time and Draymond clocked in like Batman 💀

Green has had multiple encounters with opposing fans in the past. In 2022, a Milwaukee Bucks supporter was thrown out after a verbal spat with the four-time champ. Two weeks before that incident, the NBA fined Green $25,000 for another argument with a Dallas Mavericks supporter.

Draymond Green getting into the face of a fan in New Orleans was not unusual. That he remained calm and composed during the exchange was what surprised some.

Green’s demeanor helped him stay on the floor during a game that the Warriors badly needed his presence. The Dubs’ defensive lynchpin held the team together during the Pelicans’ best stretch. Golden State weathered New Orleans’ second-quarter surge to cruise to a 124-106 win.

The 2017 Defensive Player of the Year ended the game with eight points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block. Golden State outscored New Orleans by 23 points when Green was on the floor, the best among the Warriors.

Steve Kerr had “no problem” with Draymond Green confronting fan

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr inevitably answered questions about Draymond Green’s confrontation with a New Orleans Pelicans fan. Kerr responded when asked to comment on that viral incident:

“I don’t know what happened, but I saw it, and he must have been chirping at Draymond or something. … As long as it doesn’t escalate, it’s fine to go over and have a discussion. I had no problem with it.”

Kerr added that it would have been better if security had arrived “earlier” to prevent things from getting ugly. He refused to comment more about the confrontation, emphasizing that he did not know who said what.

The multi-titled coach thought both Draymond Green and the fan handled the exchange well before referees and security separated them.
