Can you solo defeat Shadow Cresselia in Pokemon GO 5-star Shadow Raids?

Shadow Cresselia raids in Pokemon GO are impossible to defeat as a solo trainer. The creature will be available in 5-star Shadow Raids during the Wild Area 2025 event. Unfortunately, a number of factors make it impossible to be soloed before the 300-second timer runs out.

Why it is impossible to solo defeat Shadow Cresselia in Pokemon GO 5-star Shadow Raids

Here’s a look at the Shadow Cresselia’s stats. They will help explain why you cannot take down these raids on your own:

  • Type: Psychic
  • Weaknesses: Ghost, Dark, Bug
  • Combat Power: 33,794
  • Attack: 152 (+20%) [This goes up by 85% when the raid boss is Enraged]
  • Defense: 258 (-20%) [This goes up 300% when the raid boss is Enraged]
  • Stamina: 15,000 HP
  • Fast Attacks: Confusion and Psycho Cut
  • Charged Attacks: Aurora Beam, Future Sight, Moonblast, and Grass Knot

As you can see, Cresselia doesn’t have any double weaknesses. It also has a massive Defense stat that isn’t affected too poorly even by the Shadow debuff. Moreover, when the creature reaches 30% health, it enters an Enraged state, making it impossible for you to deal any meaningful damage.

As a solo trainer, you cannot subdue Enraged Shadow Cresselia as it takes eight Purfied Gems to undermine the creature, and as a single trainer, you can use only five.

Minimum number of raiders needed to defeat Shadow Cresselia in Pokemon GO 5-star Shadow Raids

Even under optimal conditions, you need at least three trainers with maxed out counters to take down Shadow Cresselia raids. The weather should be Foggy and two of you should use Level 50 Dawn Wings Necrozma with Shadow Claw and Moongeist Beam, and one trainer should use Level 50 Mega Gengar with Lick and Shadow Ball.

Additionally, having Party Play and Behemoth Blade’s Adventure Effect turned on will help take down the boss faster. Stock up on Max Potions to heal your attackers and have a backup ‘mon in your battle party to make sure you don’t get kicked out of the fight.
