TreVeyon Henderson delivered three touchdowns in the New England Patriots‘ 27-14 win over the New York Jets on Thursday night. The performance included two rushing scores and one receiving touchdown as Henderson continued his strong play with Rhamondre Stevenson sidelined due to a toe injury.

Patriots teammates noted afterward that his output reflected what they had been seeing from him in practice since his arrival. Henderson has added another dimension to New England’s offense over the past three games. His former Ohio State teammate Chris Olave recently discussed Henderson’s development and made a bold statement about his trajectory moving forward.

“That’s just the start. I’ve seen it. I was a senior when he was a freshman. He’s a special player, but even better human. His acceleration, the way, he could catch the ball like in the backfield too. It’s even better, but I feel like that’s just a start, man. He’s gonna tear the NFL up, man. They’re 9-2. So he’s going to take that into the playoffs, and he’s going to be a huge part of that team,” Olave said on Up & Adams.

Olave was a senior wide receiver at Ohio State when Henderson arrived as a freshman in 2021. Both contributed to the program’s consistent production of NFL-caliber skill players during their overlapping time in Columbus.

Henderson finished his collegiate career from 2021 to 2024 with 3,761 rushing yards and 48 total touchdowns. He added 77 receptions for 853 yards with six receiving scores and ranks third in school history with 4,614 all-purpose yards.

Henderson appeared in 47 games and made 38 starts across four seasons, including all 16 games during his senior year in 2024. His dominance on Thursday night pushed his touchdown total to five over the last five days.

Henderson has compiled 243 yards from scrimmage across his last two games while playing nearly 86 percent of New England’s offensive snaps. He has established himself as the primary option in the Patriots’ backfield ahead of favorable matchups against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12 and the New York Giants the following Monday. Those opportunities could position Henderson as one of the defining players of the 2025 season.
